The AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider Course is designed for healthcare professionals who respond to emergencies in infants and children. You are required to have a current BLS card to attend this course.

Topics:

• Basic Life Support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-valve-mask and use of an AED.
• Recognition and early management of pediatric respiratory and cardiac arrest.
• Management of respiratory emergencies
• Rhythm disturbances and electrical therapy
• Vascular access
• Cardiac, respiratory, and shock case discussion and simulations
• Effective communication as a member and leader of the resuscitation team
• Effective resuscitation team dynamics

PRE-COURSE REQUIRMENT:

• You are required to complete online an pre-course self-assessment and course work with a score of 70% or higher. You can access the pre-coursework here, 
• If you have never accessed AHA eLearning, you will be asked to set up an account.  If you run into any issues with pre-course work, please call the AHA at 888-242-8883.
• You must complete the pre-coursework before attending the course. Bring a copy of the score report and course completion to class. You will not be permitted to complete the class without a copy of this.
• You must have practical knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias and the ability to recognize arrythmias.

All courses are nonrefundable.

Students must pass a written exam and skills test to qualify for the course completion eCard. The certification is valid for two years.
